And the penny drops
Remember that time I told you guys that Ethan was starting with a new nanny on January 5? Yeah, that's not happening. Her situation changed, and she dropped the bomb on me and my friend whose little boy was supposed to start the same day.
So now we're scrambling, trying to figure out what to do. Because not only is it too expensive to keep him in regular daycare in general, now's it's REALLY ridiculous because tuition is going up about 10 bucks a week on January 5. So we'd be paying the equivalent of $70 A DAY if we kept Ethan in there for the 11 days a month we need someone to watch him.
This whole thing is so irritating and infuriating on multiple levels, not least of which is that our beautiful baby deserves better than all this. I don't want to cart him around and hand him off to whomever just so we don't have to spend astronomical amounts of money for good childcare. But I also can't afford to pay astronomical amounts of money either.
I'm thinking of dumping this whole situation into a giant vat of dry rice to see what happens.
